Look Mom, I Got Wants and Opinions!
- I miss the random foolery of Myspace. The pages that took forever to load and the people who became internet famous by molesting us with a million pictures of themselves. I can’t say Myspace is all bad. I’ve met some great people and have discovered some great music artists. Now everyone is on Facebook (including me) pretending like we are over over the drama. We grown now….
- I miss the days when hip hop artists wore inexpensive clothes and only had like 4 people in their videos. I miss being able to get a sense of where they grew up and how they carried themselves in their familiar surroundings. Now hip hop artists have a gang of folks in their videos, people they probably could care less about just all up in the camera. The sad part about it is that the general public probably wouldn’t allow these artists to be “regular”. “OMG that video looks so tacky, where are the super voluptuous women and the cars that the average American cannot afford?”
- In keeping with the last statement. I’d like to say that when record companies put out artists that seem to have come out of no where and appear already glittered up and and looking extra fabulous….It’s almost like they believe I will overlook the content of the music because there are a whole bunch of colors and glitz in my face. No one feels like record companies are insulting their intelligence?
- Lil-Wayne is The Simile Rapper. He probably says the word “like” more than the average rapper. I’m told he actually has songs where he actually tells a story or ones that hit the emotions of many human beings, but I haven’t heard them yet. As much as I can’t take away from his punchlines, his songs seem selfish and they all seem to gravitate to him and what HE is doing. He just seems like someone who needs validation and attention. I respect his hustle, but he just doesn’t speak to my soul. *shrugs*
- I want to start a music blog with no central theme.
- I don’t think people know how to be fans anymore. I can’t really explain why…but yeah.
- It seems like in 2009 people are not allowed to dislike anything anymore. You can give valid points as to why you don’t like a certain thing/place/person etc. BUTTT NOOOO *smacks lips* “u juss hatin!” If that’s the case I’m a hater of chitlins and anything else I don’t
like.
